To all aspiring athletes, my name is Chris and I have been privileged to have been a football coach for the last eight years. Throughout these eight years, I have had many opportunities to coach both domestically and internationally, not only have I coached semi professional teams but also kids from a young age and senior elderly teams. During my coaching career, the one thing I have learnt to be true is that, you honestly reap what you sow, in saying that I will always strive to plan, implement and carry out training sessions to the best of my ability and with passion. Having played this sport since I was a small young five year old, I believe I am still learning more and more about this game but I also have gained invaluable knowledge which will be beneficial for all aspiring footballers.

My coaching philosophy is simple and effective. I truly believe that a coach can only give an athlete the tools to be successful, however how those tools and talents are used is completely up to the athlete. On the other hand, what I also believe in is that you reap what you sow, therefore in all of my coaching sessions and trainings I strive to put in 110 percent effort to make the session as worthwhile and beneficial to the athlete as possible, this is because everything should be done with excellence or it should not be done at all. Lastly I also understand that in order to be successful, it is not only the physical battle which needs to be won but also the mental one which puts an enormous amount of stress on an individual. This is also another reason why I attempt to always care for and treat each and every athlete as I would my family.
I began playing this beautiful game at the age of five, growing up in Malaysia, all I had to begin with was a ball and my barefoot on the hot tarmac roads. However it is during these tough times that the foundations of an athletes career is built upon. Throughout my playing career, I have had the privilege to play in multiple leagues, countries and stadiums. From National stadiums to rural indoor pitches, I have won prize money ranging from a few dollars to a thousand. The proudest moment in my playing career would be during my youth and junior years whereby I frequently picked up player of the season and man of the match awards playing in age groups at least three to five years above my age group. In return I have been given gift cards, trophies and monetary gifts as my rewards.
Officially I have been a coach for about eight years, this is because during those eight years I practiced all that I had learnt after completing the grassroots coaching and refereeing course. Throughout these years, I have coached professional futsal teams internationally, amateur football teams, semi professional football teams and currently I am coaching the reserves of football team where I grew up playing in. Typically I prefer coaching athletes in their teens particularly fifteen to twenty year olds, however I am more than happy to coach athletes with ages ranging from five to twenty as well. I believe my outgoing, friendly and enthusiastic personality fits in perfectly with this role.
