Summary

My approach to coaching is to ensure each player is immersed in an environment where they will be fully engaged and challenged in a safe and supportive environment.

I enjoy taking a holistic approach to coaching, looking to grow in all possible areas to develop as a player and as a person.

Focusing on technique, game awareness and body management, I believe everything needs to be mentally engaging and have an element of "play" to make it enjoyable.

About Coach

My coaching philosophy is based on a proactive, controlled and incisive possession-based style of play using individual and combination play to create and score goals.

Underpinned by a quick transition mentality and defending through aggressive, collective, intelligent pressing.

As I player I have played in the New Zealand National league and the Oceania Champions league, and currently play in Australia in the Victorian NPL 1.

I have also represented my Country in a number of International Football Events including,

New Zealand Olympic Team – 2011-2012
• London Olympic Games

New Zealand U20 National Team - 2010-2011
• FIFA U20 World Cup (Colombia)

New Zealand U17 National Team – 2008-2009
• FIFA U17 World Cup (Nigeria)

As a coach I have worked with players from Primary School children all the way though to elite football players at academies around NZ.

I have owned a football coaching business and built and run coaching curriculums around the country.

I currently hold a Junior Level 3 and Youth Level 2 coaching badge, and a Senior C license coaching qualification.

A body awareness and movement practise to fire up the brain and nervous system to warm up.

Individual technical work focusing on what the specific player needs to improve.

Either a possession overload exercise (Rondo) or re creating game-like scenarios to train specific football actions.

Small sided game or some sort of variation to a football match.
