Summary

What motivates me is the chance to develop the players of the future and to give back to football by leaning on the experiences I have encountered during my playing and coaching career.

My experience's as a professional player has allowed me to relate to and understand players when I am coaching. I believe that football can develop you as person and as a player. My style is to develop the player from a holistic viewpoint with sessions developed to improve players technically, physically and mentally.

Seeing the results from an individual or team perspective on gameday is extremely satisfying and fuels my hunger to be a better coach and to continue to make an impact on players or teams whether its a child beginning their football journey or a team competing at NPL level.

About Coach

"Fail to prepare, Prepare to fail"
A quote attributed to my football hero growing up - Roy Keane
This quote kept me accountable as a player and now as a coach when ensuring every little detail is thought about when preparing sessions for players or teams. I am a big admirer of Ajax and how they have produced players throughout the years following the TIPS Model and this is a big component of how I structure and develop my one on one and group sessions.
Technique - the ability to control the ball
Insight - football intelligence and decision-making
Personality - flair, discipline and character
Speed - mobility, acceleration and pace over distance
My philosophy for coaching teams and the playing style that would be implemented depends on the players that are available to me.

My football journey started back in Ireland and like most kids my dream was to play professionally, after a lot of hard work and dedication I was signed by Everton FC in England when I was 13 to a 6-year contract signing a 3-year pro at 17 and was in the senior squad for the 06-07 season. I played at Youth level for Ireland from U-13 level to U-20 and have over 40 youth international cap's. From my early teens to my early twenties, I was coached by some top coaches and learnt a lot training with Everton's first team at a time when Tim Cahill was there. I have played in the NPL Victoria for a number of clubs including South Melbourne, Dandenong Thunder and most recently captaining Port Melbourne Sharks.I have held coaching roles at every club I have played for and coached teams in the junior NPL system since 2014 and have also coached for numerous academies and schools working alongside some great football figures including Jesper Olsen and Mehmet Durakovic.

High energy sessions!! that are challenging - hard work - playing with a smile - focused -

Individual and small group sessions would lean towards a big focus on the technical components - tailored to a players position on the pitch - always with a ball a your feet

Team training would incorporate - small sided games - tactical component on attacking/defending

Video analysis session to improve the payers game understanding and develop the players game intelligence
