I have had a range of experiences working with numerous footballers of different ages. Currently I work in a school and lead a Football Academy coaching Under 13 - 18 players (NPL/Community/A-League youth). I combine this with coaching a senior team in the local state leagues. I am able to work with teams however specialize in smaller group sessions working on individual growth.
I have a strong opinion on helping athletes grow holistically. I feel that particularly youth athletes do not engage with enough personalised training outside of their team environments and I have a strong passion for helping develop individual player abilities. I also take a keen interest in mentoring athletes on a number of facets of their lives (schooling, football, scheduling, mindset).
My playing career spans for over 12 years playing in the old Victorian Premier League. I held a scholarship at the Victorian Institute of Sport for two years and was named in the 2003 Australian Schoolboys squad. I played in a number of interstate and overseas tournaments as a youth player and represented Victoria at Under 16 and 18 level.
More recently I have coached within a secondary school academy and also State League senior squads.
Depending on whether it is a group or individual session, my aim would be to expose the player to as many touches of the ball as possible working on the core elements of the game (1st touch, Passing, Dribbling, Finishing). In small groups, we may look at some more technical principles of the game around defensive and attacking components of the game.
