Coaching soccer to me is a way to give back to the community for giving me a chance to play this beautiful game in my life. I am ready to engage with an athlete in their daily lives.
For younger players, I like to stick to democratic coaching style which is athlete-centered anf helps athletes to develop a sense of their own control over training sessions preparing them for the future. Athletes shape their own objectives and the coach prepares a framework under which they will then work.
For older players, I prefer to use an autoctatic coaching style. I like to articulate a vision for the team/group of players for what needs to be accomplished and what is expected of them.
I have been playing soccer since 10 years. In India I used to play professionally, now I'm here in Australia to pursue my dreams. I am still playing in the State League 5 here but due to other commitments not able to play at a higher level. I have been coaching since 2.5-3 years. I used to train 12-18 year old players in India. Here, I have coached the U-11 s and U- 13s. So, I am comfortable to work with any age group.
It all depends on the objectives and goals of an athlete, what this sport means to him and how far is he willing to go. I'm ready to denote extra time each session even if I'm not paid for it.
